VRM is based on glTF2.0 and can be freely used by anyone. VRM is a file format for handling human-like 3D avatar (3D model) data for VR applications. We plan on working on creating a process to maximize interoperablity across all tools that accept VRM based avatars. In it's current state this guide does not go over optomization of the very detailed Daz Genesis 8 models to allow them to easily function in such apps as VRChat (70K poly recommended max, G8 figure with hair and outfit can be well over 500K). The process isn't too complex but it requires a bit of work to setup. The main goal being to increase the utility of our NFP Avatars by increasing their interoperablity with other applications. This guide is provided as is and was compiled from the referenced documentation by members of the NFP community. Now all you need to do is go to File > Export > glTF 2.0. Then under Materials select Principled for the Method. Next, while in that tab, click on Global Settings. Writing that down in case you get lost finding that tab like I did. The shortcut to open up the Diffeomorphic tab is N. Sometimes I just use the Export to Blender script directly from the Content Library tab, scripts folder to save some clicks using the Setup Menus script. After checkout you can install using Daz 3D itself in the Smart Content folder tab or DazCentral. Install Diffeomorphic Plugin for both Daz 3D and BlenderĮverything I've used so far has just been from the Daz 3D store.

However, there is a time saving automation step using Diffeomorphic that is hopefully worth the extra install work using this script.ģ. I don't think it's necessary but installing the official Daz to Blender bridge hasn't been working for me.
